“Most people are body language under-educated. There are no skills taught in elementary, junior high or high school anywhere. Most people have no idea why they “just get a feeling about someone.” You probably have no idea what cues and signals you are sending.”
Kevin Hogan, Body Language & Influence Expert and Speaker
Body language is just one part of non-verbal communication, although it is a pretty big part! It can cover movements made in the face, both overt and micro-expressions, touching parts of your body with your hands, eye contact, posture, gait, limb actions, hand gestures, and a whole lot more. Body language study is not a perfect science, but there have been numerous studies and research on the subject since the 1950s.
Our 3VC body language program can be studied as part of an effective communications program or by itself. It can be delivered via a corporate workshop or a tailored private 1-on-1 coaching program. It is ideal for people who are in sales, media, teaching and training, coaching, business and any type of public speaking.
Why should you study body language? There are 2 good reasons:
1 – So you can read people better. Develop your empathy, your listening skills, and observation skills so that you can make an educated guess as to what a person is thinking and feeling, so that you can communicate more effectively with that person.
2 – So you can present yourself better. You may or may not be able to read people well, but you can always control how you present yourself to the world! Learn the most effective ways to walk into a room, talk to anyone (even on live TV!), give a presentation or speech, or simply just mingle and network. There are techniques to learn that will allow you to lead people so that they like you, trust you, and follow you.

Carla Howard, Seneca College Corporate Communications Program 2011“I can’t wait to share the great news with you that I won the Breakthrough Award yesterday at my Dale Carnegie’s class! I did restructure my story as you suggested and applied the body language you taught me. My classmates were very impressed and voted me as the winner of the night. I think the credit goes to you. Without your help and inspiration, I would never get there. Thanks so much!!!” Grace G., Customer Relationship Manager, Visa Canada
