Coaching

“There really is nothing better than having your own private coach.”

Because we don’t always fit into a pre-planned curriculum or template, it’s important to have the opportunity to get a tailored personal program created specifically for you, which considers your current unique situation, the obstacles around you, and your goals to achieve in the near future.

I’ve joined a gym a number of times in the past, and could always see some benefit from regular exercise.  But I know for sure that the fastest, most dramatic results in my physique came when I spent the extra time and money and hired a personal trainer.  The same is true for communication coaching.

All coaching is “3V” communication coaching:  Verbal (your words, grammar, expressions etc.) Vocal (your rhythm of speech, stress, volume, delivery etc.) and Visual (your body language & gestures, with optional image coaching if desired for clothing, accessories, etc.)

Executive Coaching – A manager needs to manage people.  A leader needs to lead people. A representative of your company needs to talk to the public and the media.  You need the very best interpersonal and professional communication skills.  We can help you reach the apex of your meetings, presentations, media appearances, networking and social functions, and client interactions.

Employee Coaching – Many organizations these days are investing internally into their employees.  H.R. departments and upper management agree that the more efficient and productive your employees’ communications are, the more profitable ultimately the company becomes.  This includes internal communications (like emails, reports, meetings, etc.) and external communications (like customer phone calls & meetings, emails and presentations, etc.) Coaching programs are always industry-specific.

ESL (English) Coaching – The world is global, and immigration is high, especially in the greater Toronto area.  We value an immigrant’s ability to speak a second or third language, but we mustn’t forget that English is the operating language here.  In order to achieve success or get promoted, an ESL employee or manager must reduce their accent, improve their vocabulary for the workplace, and learn the Canadian style of business, as per that industry. Let a coach help with clearer speaking, better writing, and a deeper understanding of why we do what we do here in the Canadian workplace.

“I liked the one on one rather than the group because I could comfortably get help for my issues and not feel embarrassed.”  E. Hooey, Analyst, Toronto, ON

“I needed to improve my communication and confidence so that I could communicate more effectively.  This coaching program helped me do that.”  Erica H., H.R. Manager, Toronto

“This coaching helped me so much to get know Canadian culture, history and modern style of life not to mention a better understanding of the “neutral” Canadian English accent.  Owing to Ric I developed some new personal skills and became more sure and confident in communicating with native English speakers.”  Ilya M. Petrichenko, Director, Economic and Planning Department, WorldMark Corp./OTO, Moscow, Russia

“I highly recommend Ric’s coaching.  It will increase employment potential, allow for easier assimilation into the Canadian work environment, and increase your earning potential personally.”  A.  Muhammadi, CA, Controller, Wealth Management, CIBC

“Successful and unsuccessful people do not vary greatly in their abilities. They vary in their desires to reach their potential.” – John Maxwell

The Process – What to Expect:

1. The process of communication skill enhancement starts with an email or a phone call, then perhaps a face-to-face free consultation if feasible.  I want to hear your goals, and the obstructions in your way.

2. Next I want to discuss with you the realities of your environment, and what opportunities are available to you, or your organization.  What has been tried before and how can I be better to ensure success?  We need an open and frank dialogue.

3. After the initial assessment during our consultation I will discuss with you a road-map of what I believe is the best way to achieve your goals, and what I would require to make that happen.  We would discuss schedules, program length, location, materials and of course fees.  You are not obligated to anything at this point.  It is all included in the consultation.

4. A formal proposal can be created for your Manager/H.R. if you are asking for professional development reimbursement or subsidy.

5. We can adjust the proposed coaching/training program as needed, and then when you are ready, we go forward!  An invoice will be created as per our agreement.

6. Coaching/training is dynamic and constantly in motion, meaning that we are able to adapt to specific requirements that may come up, either due to company requests or due to discovery during sessions.  We are able to adapt the program and focus on the most important communication skills, at all times, in the best interest of skill development.

7. After the initial program or workshop is complete we can discuss if 3VC can be of any more service to you or your company.  We welcome feedback at any time, and are happy to discuss program ROI and markers of success along the way.
